Yin oder Yang Quality
small Yang – Shao Yang, 少阳
Hun, the ethereal soul
Visions, clear perception, making decisions, creativity
After the winter of not-knowing comes the spring of liveliness. He brings us signs of hope and the splendor of new beginnings.
Here we can make a choice for the future and find our life task. In the Wood Element our vision opens up on all levels.
The Wood-Energies lead our unconscious self, mind and soul to purposeful, focused manifestation.
Spiritual Potential Hun, the ethereal soulRead More
The liver is home to Hun, the ethereal soul. It is a kind of “soul personality” and lives on after death.
This concept is found in Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. According to traditional ideas, the liver establishes the connection to the universal or divine and is an essential carrier of spiritual growth.
This aspect of the soul nourishes our imagination, one of the roots of our creativity. Through dreams and lived emotions there is a connection to the subconscious, the origin of our strength and our courage.
Developing a vision or the ability to dream something in the future is an expression of a powerful liver energy.
Emotion AngerRead More
Ideally, our urge for life and creative expression would be balanced by the emphasis on peaceful coexistence – peaceful coexistence is a quality that complements the Wood Element.
This urge is often suppressed in our upbringing. Under these circumstances, anger is a means of making oneself heard.
The balance between the strength of our Wood-Energy and the power of its suppression determines how our anger expresses itself and what direction the Ki-flow that accompanies it will take.
Either the Ki will shoot up and cause severe symptoms (e. g. severe headaches, eye complaints, etc. ) or, if anger is suppressed, the flow of Ki will often slow down and create horizontal blockages (e. g. in the throat, diaphragm and pelvic floor)
The five phases of change symbolize cycles of the seasons of the earth and of human life. The wood stands for the directed movement of existence („being“).
A simple tree gives a good idea of the wood element. He is a rooted, growing being that stretches outwards and inwards, up and down at the same time. If one grows like a tree in the forest, then the energy is healthy and clear. One is grounded and growing, one is adaptable and strong, carries the seeds of new life and goes through a cycle from season to season.
The Gallbladder Meridian is the only Yang-Organ to which mental or spiritual abilities are attributed. He is the partner of the Liver in the Wood Element and geared to act. He gives the body what the Gallbladder-Energy conveys on the mental level: Flexibility, coordination and balance.
The Gallbladder with his Yang emphasized decision-making ability needs an angle of 180° to be able to turn from one direction to the other. His meridian runs accordingly on the outside of the body downward and jumps from the head to the trunk, down into the legs, constantly back and forth. This flexibility helps us to weigh issues and to make quick and clear decisions.
To make decisions
Carry out the planning of the liver
Provides mental presence, clarity, rational action
Supports the liver in many functions
Storage and excretion of bile
Control of digestive juices
Energy distribution of the sides: now and then a split between the right and left half of the body can be seen (e. g. eyebrows at different heights). This often reflects a conflict between two facets of the personality that cannot be solved by the person.
