Disorders of the root chakra are often caused by difficulties and burdens in the childhood (3-5 years), if sufficient safety and security was not experienced.
In later years, the root chakra is mainly blocked by experiences of physical violence, existential fears, social fears and a lack of higher calling and connection to one’s soul.
A disturbance in the root chakra can lead to escape behavior – drugs, alcohol, food, consumption, sex addiction – but also to a spiritual escape behavior.
It can come to unconscious compensatory or even punitive actions. In addition to diseases such as bulimia and anorexia or a burn-out syndrome.
Furthermore to excessive attachment to relationships and circumstances, there may also be attachment to mental concepts, ideologies, and beliefs.
Many fears can arise, such as: Existential anxiety, fear of survival, fear of change, fear of not belonging to a family or a tribe, being afraid of being in the body; Phobias (e.g. from spiders or the like); also mental weakness, depression
